Location:Melbourne or Sydney, AustraliaDivision:Corporate Banking / Credit Risk ManagementReporting to:Head of Credit Risk / CRORole Overview:The Credit Risk Relationship Manager plays a pivotal role in the credit origination, assessment, and post-lending oversight for corporate banking clients. Operating within a global banking framework, this position is responsible for identifying and structuring credit opportunities in alignment with the banks strategic objectives and risk appetite. The role combines rigorous credit evaluation with strong relationship management and post-lending monitoring responsibilities.Key Responsibilities:1.Credit Origination and Proposal DevelopmentLead the preparation, drafting, and submission of comprehensive credit proposals for new and existing clients.Ensure all credit submissions are in full compliance with internal credit policy and regulatory requirements.Liaise with internal stakeholders, including the Sydney branch Credit Committee and Head Office, for timely and effective credit approval.2.Post-Lending Credit ManagementConduct ongoing monitoring of approved credit facilities to identify early signs of credit deterioration or non-compliance.Implement robust risk mitigation strategies and escalate issues in consultation with the Credit Risk Management Division (CRMD), the Chief Risk Officer (CRO), and Loans Administration.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client performance, covenant compliance, and facility utilisation.3.Client Relationship & Business DevelopmentSource and originate high-quality corporate lending transactions aligned with the banks business development strategy and credit risk appetite.Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients to understand their financing needs and identify cross-selling opportunities.Prepare marketing materials and pitch books to support client engagement and relationship deepening initiatives.4.Administrative and Internal CoordinationManage administrative duties related to credit documentation, reporting, and internal compliance.Ensure coordination between the front office, credit risk, legal, operations, and loans administration for the smooth execution of transactions.Contribute to internal projects, audits, or regulatory reviews as required.Skills and Experience Required:Fluent written and verbal Mandarin capabilities.Proven experience in corporate credit analysis, lending, and risk management within a bank or financial institution.Strong analytical skills with the ability to independently prepare high-quality credit evaluation reports.Demonstrated capability to manage post-lending processes, including covenant tracking and early warning risk identification.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in both English and Mandarin (spoken and written).Experience in marketing and originating corporate banking transactions, preferably with exposure to Asia-Pacific markets.Education and Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field from an Australian university or an internationally recognised institution.Postgraduate qualifications (e.g., CFA, CPA, MBA) will be regarded as an advantage.Sound knowledge of Australian corporate lending regulations and credit risk frameworks.Key Competencies and Expectations:Independence & Initiative Ability to manage end-to-end credit origination and post-lending activities with minimal supervision.Risk Awareness Deep understanding of credit risk principles and ability to apply sound judgment in credit decisions.Team Collaboration Work closely with internal stakeholders across risk, operations, and compliance functions.Client Focus Strong orientation toward building long-term, trust-based client relationships.Attention to Detail High level of accuracy and accountability in documentation and credit reporting.How do your skills match this job?How do your skills match this job?Sign in and update your profile to get insights.Your application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?
