Add expected salary to your profile for insights.Job Title: Subcontracts ManagerThe Subcontracts Manager is a member of the Supply Chain Team responsible for end-to-end subcontract management support for Saab Australia''s projects and programs during pre-contract (bid) and delivery phases.The incumbent will actively support the Senior Subcontracts Manager and contribute to the delivery of subcontract management services.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and manage subcontract management processes including planning, sourcing, tendering, evaluation, negotiation, execution, and delivery.Perform supply chain risk assessments, conduct due diligence, participate in make/buy decisions, and support the capture/bid/project teams with expert knowledge.Engage with the commercial and legal teams to determine applicable ASDEFCON head contract flow-down requirements for subcontracts.Develop project-specific special conditions and collaborate with legal to draft subcontract templates ensuring compliance with Saab''s commercial obligations.Assist in assessing and shortlisting subcontractors during the pre-''Win Business'' phase using relevant Saab processes.Develop procurement strategies and plans, and support project teams with scope-specific RFP documentation.Support other subcontract and procurement team members.Assist project managers with reviews, analyses, and reporting on subcontracts to improve efficiency and manage spend.Lead RFP/Q response evaluations to ensure best value for money and drive efficiency.Support procurement activities including supplier assessments, governance audits, and contractual compliance management.Manage scope changes, contract variations, and S&Q activities.Coordinate with the Finance team on milestone payments and contract adjustments.Lead negotiations as required.About YouYour skills and experience should include:Minimum of 5 years in a subcontract management role within the defence industry.Extensive experience with the ASDEFCON contract suite, especially related to IP, security, cost principles, confidentiality, liabilities, and schedule clauses.Knowledge of end-to-end subcontract management and experience delivering complex defence subcontracts.Ability to prepare and present internal and external review decks.Strong communication skills, commercial acumen, stakeholder management, and understanding of contract law.Knowledge of Australian and US Government export control processes.Educational Qualifications and Professional MembershipsTertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related fields.Security Clearance: Must hold or be able to obtain Australian Defence Security Clearance at baseline/NV1/NV2 level.About UsSaab Australia is a leading defence, security, and cyber solutions provider, specializing in major system development and integration with over 30 years of experience in Australia.
