Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, the Director, Housing and Property Services will drive the development of new Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), oversee organisational property strategy, and ensure our housing assets meet the needs of participants and support sustainable growth.This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of housing and property within a respected not-for-profit organisation. You will bring strong leadership, SDA expertise, and the ability to deliver complex property projects from concept through to completion.What youll be doingAs Director, you will lead housing and property strategy, oversee compliance and infrastructure risk, and manage development and capital works projects across SDA and other organisational assets.Key responsibilities include:Leading the planning and delivery of new SDA and disability housing projects across the NTOverseeing property acquisition, disposal, lease arrangements, and upgradesProviding strategic oversight of all housing assets and organisational propertyEnsuring SDA compliance and liaison with the NDIA and relevant authoritiesDeveloping asset strategies aligned with NDIS requirements and service delivery needsSupporting Somervilles broader operational and strategic goals through asset planning and infrastructure adviceWhat youll bringTo succeed in this role, youll bring strategic leadership, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to drive complex property and housing initiatives that align with long-term organisational goals and NDIS requirements.Youll also need to demonstrate:Extensive experience delivering property and housing projects, including development, compliance, and project managementIn-depth understanding of SDA, NDIS provider obligations, and disability housing requirementsStrong strategic planning and critical thinking skillsExperience leading teams and managing consultants and contractorsSound knowledge of NT building regulations, planning processes, and tenancy lawExcellent stakeholder engagement and interpersonal communication skillsStrong financial acumen, including capital budget management and feasibility assessmentProficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and property or asset management softwareHigh-level professionalism and a commitment to ethical practice, inclusion, and participant choice and controlYou will also need to hold (or have the ability to obtain) a current Ochre Card, Criminal History Check, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, COVID-19 and Influenza vaccinations, evidence of Australian work rights, and an NT Drivers Licence.Please refer to our website for a copy of the position description and a complete list of essential and desirable criteria (work with usWe offer a collaborative and purpose-driven work environment, where your leadership will directly contribute to improving the lives of Territorians living with disability.
