About the role: As the ECC Head Nurse you have a shared responsibility of administration and management of the ECC nursing team. Your daily tasks will involve team development, liaising with intra and inter-departmental team members, upholding high standards of ECC/ICU care, drive team development and participation in all aspects of workflow in a supportive environment. You will advocate on behalf of the ECC nursing team and act as a representative for collaborative engagement between other departments, aiming for a one-hospital approach and business as a whole. Where you will be working: The Animal Referral Hospital Essendon Fields is a multi-disciplinary specialist hospital , and today it is a part of the largest emergency and specialist group in Australia, hosting the largest contingent of Emergency Veterinarians and Criticalists in the Country. You will have access to all the items required to practice emergency and critical care at the highest level, including intensive care ventilators, blood gas analysis, IDEXX pathology, cage-side ultrasound and on-site CT and MRI. We encourage case collaboration, and you will have the advantage of working closely with the Surgery and Medicine Specialist nursing teams to deliver the best standard of care to your patients. Who we are looking for: Must have: Cert IV or above A proven history of leading a team of nurses in a senior capacity Competence with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) Commitment to being a team player, good communicator and contributing to a positive workplace environment Desirable: Additional qualifications e.g. VTS or Vets Now Certification Management training (formal or informal through CPD) would be advantageous Experience using RxWorks and Smartflow veterinary software Our Offer to You!
