About the Job About the role Join the PTA as a Senior Track Engineer and play a key role in ensuring the performance, reliability, and compliance of our rail infrastructure. This position provides expert engineering support across maintenance, design, construction, upgrades, and modifications of track assets. As a senior member of the team, you''ll contribute to operational performance, lead safety and improvement initiatives, and support both technical development and team capability within the Track branch. As Senior Track Engineer within the Track Engineering team, you will be involved in developing asset management strategies for the track assets and providing engineering input into the design, maintenance & construction of the PTA track assets. . The role also involves developing track standards, procedures and guidelines, contributing to risk management, policy development, and performance reporting. With a focus on engineering best practices and regulatory compliance, you''ll help shape the future of PTAs rail network through asset management and renewal programs. About You! To excel in this role, you should possess: Professionally qualified with extensive experience in planning, designing, delivering, and commissioning track maintenance or construction works within complex, asset-intensive rail environments. Strong understanding of rail safety legislation, safety management systems, and asset management frameworks, with the ability to develop and interpret standards for civil and transport infrastructure. Proven ability to lead and inspire teams to achieve goals and deliver high-quality outcomes in a collaborative environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build stakeholder relationships, write clear technical reports, and resolve complex technical and operational issues through sound analytical thinking. Highly organised with a proven ability to meet deadlines through effective teamwork and delegation, while demonstrating accountability, safety leadership, and a commitment to continuous personal development.
