This is a position in a business that continues to grow within Queensland.Primary Purpose of PositionReporting to the Fleet Manager Queensland, the Workshop Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the ongoing maintenance and minor repairs of the company''s vehicle fleet and associated equipment based at CDCs Rockhampton depot, liaising with Kunda Park Depot on the Sunshine Coast for major repairs. This position oversees the day-to-day safe and efficient operation of the Kawana mechanical workshop.To be considered for this role, you have:QualificationsQualified Heavy Mechanic (Cert III Heavy Commercial Vehicle)Minimum 5 years experience in the industryExperienceTransport/truck or heavy equipment workshop experience, managing a large fleet of vehicles, including Mercedes Benz, MAN, Toyota5 years diesel mechanic experience in a similar role within the bus or heavy vehicle industrySkillsAbility to prioritize and plan work activities, identify additional resources neededStrong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor team membersExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficient in MS Office programsAbility to analyze and resolve mechanical problems promptly, developing innovative solutionsUnderstanding of company demands, strategic planning for fleet maintenance, and goal settingKnowledgePractical knowledge and experience forming sound judgementKnowledge of bus depot operations and industry WH&S standardsGeneral ResponsibilitiesPlan, schedule, and monitor vehicle servicing, ensuring compliance and fleet availabilityCoordinate with operational personnel for vehicle availability and schedulingPerform minor repairs and scheduled servicing, liaising with the Fleet Manager for major repairs and warranty workAllocate jobs and manage workflow in the workshopTroubleshoot mechanical issues, record observations, and decide on repair methodsReport progress on long-term jobs and communicate delays or concernsEnsure quality standards are met in all workshop workOrder parts and consumables through the Fleet ManagerCoordinate registration renewal inspectionsConduct workshop inductions and training for personnelTo applyIf you are considering a change, we would love to speak with you.
