Environmental Services - Cleaner/Laundry 1About the RoleThe Environmental Services Assistant is responsible in providing a safe, clean Ward/Unit environment in accordance with Infection Control and Occupational Safety and Health regulations.Under direction and supervision of Environmental Service Coordinators, you will provide effective support contributing to the operational support of the hospital. You will be working within a fast-paced team-focused environment within the Albury Wodonga Private Hospital.Joining our team, you will be responsible for:Highest standards of cleanliness to all areas, including wards and operating theatres.Ensure all equipment utilised on shifts is cleaned, restocked and stored in the appropriate storage areasWorking in a friendly and supportive manner at all timesAdhere to all infection control guidelines and principles.About YouPrior experience in a cleaning role within a healthcare setting is desirableAvailability to work morning / afternoon / late evening and weekend shifts requiredProven ability to work effectively in a team structure and independently as requiredUnderstanding of Workplace Health and Safety policies and proceduresProven experience with hazard identificationUnderstanding of hygiene principles.Flexible to work a rotating roster with a variety of shifts available (Desirable).Additionally, you will:Perform all cleaning tasks, including decontamination of beds and cleaning of wards and theatreequipment (Desirable)Perform all is to transport patients duties between departments/wards and soiled linen tasks (Laundry Management), decontaminate all bins, and securely manage the Clinical Waste(Desirable)Assisting nursing staff with lifting/positioning patients (as required) and bed making.Identifies risks and hazards and reports promptly to ensure that safety measures are maintained.Perform other adhoc duties as required and requested by management.About UsAlbury Wodonga Private Hospital is owned and operated by Ramsay Health Care, a global operator of private hospitals and primary care clinics with over 70 Australian sites employing over 34,000 people.
