Select how often (in days) to receive an alert:At Optus, we have an ambitious goal to be Australias most loved everyday brand.The Commercial Contract Manager (CCM) plays a senior role within Optus Business, responsible for maximising the contractual and commercial performance of Optus'' most complex and high-value customer accounts. Working closely with Account Directors and Delivery teams, the CCM leads or supports contract negotiations, resolves disputes, and ensures favourable commercial outcomes. This role manages Tier 1 customer contracts (often within the financial services or federal government sectors) and supports major bids and strategic opportunities across the business.With deep expertise in contract and commercial management, the CCM independently oversees legal, risk, and governance obligations, ensuring alignment with Optus policies, ISO-certified processes, and relevant regulations. Their work is critical to maintaining compliance and driving value, and they are often recognised as a national subject matter expert, consulted on complex issues and high-stakes negotiations to support business success.What you''ll be doing:Support sales by negotiating head agreements, Statements of Work, and supply contracts for new opportunities and scope changes, ensuring alignment with Optus policies and quality systems.Build and maintain strong contract management relationships with customers and stakeholders to enhance service quality and customer satisfaction.Oversee drafting, documentation, and approvals for contracts and amendments, while monitoring obligations, changes, risks, and deliverables through proper registers.Identify and manage commercial risks, resolve contractual issues and disputes, and ensure exposure is addressed through appropriate business case or operational actions.Negotiate third-party agreements, ensure fair risk distribution, and drive commercial outcomes over the contract lifecycle to maximise Optus strategic and financial benefits.What makes you perfect for the role?Degree-qualified in business, law and equivalent experience in a similar commercial contract and or vendor management role.Extensive Industry Experience: 515 years of experience in ICT, outsourcing, and customer-facing services, including at least 3 years in a commercial or business management role.Contract & Negotiation Expertise: Proven ability to draft complex contract clauses with minimal legal support and lead high-value negotiations that deliver significant savings or margin improvements.Commercial & Risk Acumen: Strong commercial judgement with demonstrated experience in shaping legal agreements, managing risk, and aligning commercial strategies with business goals.Stakeholder Management & Leadership: Skilled in influencing and managing senior stakeholders, with experience operating autonomously and leading in matrixed environments.Professional Skills & Certifications: Strong communication, presentation, and planning skills; IACCM membership/certification; and a detail-oriented, flexible approach to managing competing priorities.Perks we love at Optus3 days in the office, 2 days remote with flexible hours to suit!Inclusive paid parental leave, up to 16 weeks for the primary care giver.Optus employees have access to resources, webinars and support via the Parents at Work portal.Own your own growth by accessing an extensive online and facilitator led learning catalogue.Connect at work through our employee-led volunteer groups: Culture Connect, Elevate Women, Disability Network, Express Yourself (LGBTQIA+), United Veterans, Yarn Network, Wellbeing Network and Young Professionals.Vibrant campus life, variety of facilities including restaurants, cafes, gymnasium, GP, and post office.Free Optus bus from Macquarie University Metro Station (every 6-8 minutes); morning and afternoon!Keen to see what its really like to work at Optus?
