Job Description

The Role The Power Systems Team Leader will play an integral part in a team of highly skilled specialists that bring ideas to life for our clients across various energy infrastructure projects. This includes modeling and performance assessment of renewable energy zones, wind farms, solar farms, battery energy storage systems, and synchronous condensers, as well as network planning for transmission and distribution systems. The role also involves conducting commercial research, development activities, and providing technical advice to stakeholders such as network owners, system operators, developers, OEMs, governments, and regulatory and financial institutions. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership: Lead complex power system studies, guide model development and validation, ensure compliance with the NEM Rules, conduct harmonic assessments, and prepare technical documentation. Software & Modelling: Utilize power system analysis tools like PSSE, PSCAD, PowerFactory, DSATools, and scripting in Python for automation and model processing. Project & Stakeholder Management: Lead multidisciplinary teams, manage client expectations and project risks, foster strong relationships with stakeholders, and contribute to project bids and scoping. People Leadership & Development: Mentor engineers, promote a collaborative environment, and contribute to hiring and capability development within the team. Qualifications and Experience Degree in Electrical Engineering; postgraduate studies are a plus. Over 10 years of experience in power system studies, especially NEM grid connection and transmission planning. Deep knowledge of power system theory, control systems, and inverter-based resource integration. Proficiency in PSSE and PSCAD; experience with PowerFactory and scripting (Python/Fortran) is desirable. Familiarity with AEMO processes, GPS testing, and commissioning. Strong leadership and project management skills in multi-stakeholder environments. Excellent communication skills are essential to engage both technical and non-technical audiences. #J-18808-Ljbffr
