In short, the Library occupies a unique position at the very heart of our civil society.We are seeking a Digital Archives Assistant to work with the Digital Curation team to support workflows and processes for the acquisition and ongoing stewardship of born-digital collections, with a focus on transfer and preparation for ingestion. This includes working with legacy computers and digital carriers including floppy disks and optical media.About youTo be successful in this role, you will have the followingknowledge and experience:Applied knowledge of international standards and good practice relating to preservation of digital materials in a library or archive environment including metadata, file formats and technical specificationsDemonstrated capacity to work effectively with software and hardware tools used in digital preservation workflows, across multiple operating systems and through the command lineDemonstrated ability to research and resolve technical issues relating to software and hardware tools from the 1980s to present dayRelevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience managing born-digital collectionsApplicants not offered the role and assessed as suitable may be placed in a talent pool to fill future vacancies. #J-18808-Ljbffr
