Paediatric Advanced Trainee - Mater Mothers HospitalDate published: May 14, 2025, 15:16 PMLocation: Mater Mothers Hospital, Raymond Terrace, South Brisbane, QLDDescription:Mater Mothers Hospitals Neonatal Critical Care Unit (NCCU) is seeking a Neonatal Senior Registrar with neonatal experience to join as a Paediatric Advanced Trainee on a full-time basis, commencing June 2025 until February 2026, with the possibility of extension.Mater Mothers Hospital (MMH) in South Brisbane is Australias largest maternity hospital, caring for over 11,000 births annually. The NCCU is one of Australias largest neonatal units, providing tertiary perinatal NICU services, including pre and post-operative surgical care, sub-specialty liaison, and pre-operative cardiac care. Annually, over 2,000 babies from Queensland and Northern New South Wales receive care here. The NCCU features 42 intensive care cots and 34 special care cots.The hospital is located next to the Queensland Childrens Hospital, facilitating a close collaborative relationship and making it a quaternary referral centre for babies with cardiac or surgical conditions or requiring sub-specialty input.Minimum Requirements:Registration as a medical practitioner without conditions with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Undertaking or completed fellowship training in neonatal perinatal medicine or general paediatrics with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent.Experience in providing evidence-based, family-centred neonatal care.Tertiary level registrar experience in perinatal, cardiac, and surgical neonatology is preferred.Up-to-date knowledge of neonatal perinatal medicine and neonatal intensive care equipment.Skills in performing common neonatal intensive care procedures.Ability to work harmoniously within a team and communicate effectively at all levels.Ability to evaluate situations and make objective judgments and decisions.We acknowledge and pay respect to the Traditional Custodians and Elders past, present, and emerging of the lands and waters on which RACP members and staff live, learn, and work.
