Utilise your project management expertise to provide support and advice to Technology Solutions and Data Security.Ongoing full-time opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public Service.VPS Grade 6: $138,631 - $185,518 per annum plus superannuation.The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Senior Project Manager to provide a critical role within Technology Solutions and Data Security.About the Business UnitThe Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) delivers a justice and community safety system that works to build a safer, fairer and stronger Victoria.Technology Solutions and Data Security focuses on meeting the department''s data and digital needs by providing responsive and sustainable services focused on supporting departmental outcomes.Technology Solutions and Data Security explores and employs technology to enable the department''s business function via the use of modern, appropriate platforms, products and services. It supports enterprise-wide platforms and services including critical applications, networks, telecommunication, call centres, hosting, intranet/internet sites; delivers business and corporate funded project; and oversees the delivering of services provided by technology service providers such as Cenitex.About the RoleThe role of a Senior Project Manager:To manage and lead the delivery of major projects and initiatives in relation to time, cost, scope and quality.To ensure the successful delivery of assigned projects. The position will define the project strategic direction and plans, and effectively manage and lead the project team, resources, stakeholders and suppliers.The role will be responsible for managing projects and initiatives over their full lifecycle, within the Department''s Project Management Excellence (PME) framework and the Government''s procurement environment.To learn more about this role before applying, please read the attached position description.About youTo be successful in this role, you will have:Demonstrated project management experience, having successfully managed technology projects using formal project management methodologies in an environment of strong project governance.Commercial acumen to negotiate effectively to establish low risk, value for money commercial contracts that meet the specified requirements.Proven experience in successfully working with and managing specialist service providers in a commercial setting.Experience in applying structured project management methods, with a preference for PRINCE2 and Agile.Knowledge of ICT technologies and information system elements (hardware, software, network & communications) and their application to business functions and processes.QualificationsProject management qualifications, such as PRINCE2 certification or equivalent experience, are desirable.A Victorian driver licence is desirable as travel to corrections sites across Victoria is occasionally required.How to ApplyPlease click the Apply button on this advertisement.
