You will work across Council and with an established, highly effective team to support the delivery of Councils Governance, Information Management and Insurance functions. You will also:Actively pursue improvement opportunities for innovation which supports the development of Councils compliance program and culture.Provide advice to the organisation and Councillors, ensuring compliance with theLocal Government Act,Freedom of Information Act, Privacy and Data Protection Act,and other legislation.Ensure the smooth running of all Council briefings and meetings by coordinating our administrative processes (Some out of hours work required).Provide day to day oversight of Councils Governance, Risk and Insurance functions.Our ideal candidate will have a strong ethical foundation and be able to apply legislation and policy. With an eye for detail, and a strong acumen for systems and processes, you will be able to guide colleagues and councillors through complex matters to achieve practical, compliant outcomes for the organisation and the community. The following will be highly regarded:Demonstrated experience in Governance, Civic Support, or Councillor support in the Local Government sector.Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload despite conflicting demands and complex interrelated issues.Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to quickly establish credibility and gain cooperation from stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes and compliance.Experience in developing and implementing Governance strategies, policies, processes, and procedures in a political and sensitive environment.Knowledge of local government processes and procedures, particularly in the Governance area.Proficiency with complex software and file management systems.Ability to research and prepare clear and concise reports, briefing papers and presentationsWhat Hepburn can offer you?What better way to spend your time off than exploring the picturesque beauty with forests, natural springs and rolling landscapes.
