The Director of National Parks (the Director) is responsible for six national parks, the Australian National Botanic Gardens, 58 Australian Marine Parks and the Heard Island and McDonald Islands Marine Reserve established under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. Parks Australia is the federal park agency that supports the Director, and they are a division of the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (the Department). We work to showcase these natural and cultural wonders to the world, demonstrating to all why these places are so special, and inspiring communities to become more invested in their care and future.The Property, Infrastructure and Physical Security Branch provides accommodation, security and capital works for the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water and delivers infrastructure projects for Parks Australia, with a clear focus on modern and sustainable solutions. The property and security functions lead a strategic approach to emergency management, security, property acquisition, management, maintenance, and disposal to drive sustainable commercial outcomes that contribute to long term asset planning and governance, while ensuring to safety and compliance.The Property Planning and Capital Works team is responsible for monitoring and managing the departments accommodation utilisation as well as the execution of capital works projects. The Hobart Property team also support the Property Services team manage the Tasmanian portfolio of property leases, support facilities maintenance, emergency management and manage a range of enabling contracts and provide expert advice on the application of the Commonwealth Property Management Framework. The branch is also responsible for the design and delivery of infrastructure projects, providing economic benefit and enhancement of the natural and cultural values in the terrestrial national parks, working closely with Traditional Owners to deliver successful outcomes on behalf of the Director of National Parks. Ability to supervise and mentor other team members.EligibilityCitizenship - to be eligible for employment with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water you must be an Australian citizen.Security Clearance - this position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance.
