Apply now to be part of our team.Job summary:Looking for candidates available to work:Monday: Morning, AfternoonTuesday: Morning, AfternoonWednesday: Morning, AfternoonThursday: Morning, AfternoonFriday: Morning, AfternoonSaturday: Morning, AfternoonSunday: Morning, Afternoon2-3 years of relevant work experience required for this roleExpected salary: $65,000 - $75,000 per yearAbout UsLocated on the picturesque 90-Mile Beach, Ocean Depths Pty Ltd is a family owned and operated company supplying a variety of freshly caught seafood to both commercial premises and the public.Priding ourselves on a great family feel team environment, a quality product and a supportive and safety conscious working culture, Ocean Depths are now seeking experienced Deck Hands for their fishing vessel located at Lakes Entrance, Victoria.About The RoleWe are seeking experiencedDeck Hands to join the teams on our vessels located at Lakes Entrance, undertaking responsibilities associated with both maintenance of the boats equipment and working with the catch.Working collaboratively with your team to achieve consistent compliance with guidelines and policy, responsibilities of this role will include:Handling ropes and wires, and operating mooring equipment when berthing and unberthing.Assisting with catch operations using on-board equipment and stowing and securing the catch.Ensuring the safety of the vessel, catch, equipment and all on board.Performing routine maintenance and checks on deck equipment, cargo gear, rigging, and lifesaving and firefighting appliances.Attaching gear and fastening towing cables to nets.Casting and lowering nets, pots, lines and traps into water.Preparing lines, attaching running gear and bait, and setting lines into position.Hauling in fishing gear and removing fish and other marine life.Sorting, cleaning, preserving, stowing and refrigerating catch.About YouThe ideal candidate for this opportunity will have:A minimum of 2 years international, or 1 year Australian, recent and relevant work experience (demonstrated by a signed sea time or logbook).Experience in the various responsibilities listed above.Safety and Rescue Certificates compliant with the International Convention on Standards, Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers 1978.An exceptional work ethic.A strong focus on safety and compliance.Flexibility to be available for a variety of shifts, dependent upon the weather.Intermediate communication skills both verbal and written.Ability to work well within a team environment, interacting respectfully at all times.Current First Aid Certification (or willing to obtain).A current Drivers License.Ability to take direction, whilstalsousing your initiative.A great attitude!Whats on Offer?Competitive base remunerationof$65,000 to $75,000 plus superannuation and penalties.Great working environment.Genuine job satisfaction.Strong culture of training and support.How to ApplyTo register your interest in this exciting opportunity please hit the Apply Now button, attaching a current CV outlining your relevant experience and qualifications.Be careful - Dont provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.
