This role is crucial in managing the firm''s client acceptance functions, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, professional standards, and internal policies. The Head of Client Acceptance will work closely with professionals within our National team, focused on ensuring cohesive risk management strategies across the firm. This position reports to the National Managing Partner - Quality and Excellence and will collaborate with other Managing Partners and senior management.Key responsibilities Leadership and Management: Provide guidance and share your knowledge with the team, including professionals focused on optimising risk management strategies across the firm. Client and Business Intake: Oversee all aspects of the client and business intake processes across the firm, from the initial introduction of new business and throughout the client lifecycle. Risk and Compliance Oversight: Ensure compliance with AML regulations, sanctions, and other regulatory requirements. Conduct risk assessments and manage compliance workflows. Conflict of Interest Management: Identify and analyse potential conflicts of interest, in conjunction with our independence team propose resolutions, and maintain detailed records of the conflicts management process. Regulatory Monitoring: Stay up to date with current AML regulations, best practices, and procedures. Conduct routine checks for sanctions, Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), and adverse media. Advice and Support: Provide advice and support to Partners and fee earners on client acceptance-related matters. Respond to queries from Partners and personal assistants regarding new business acceptance. Policy Adherence: Ensure compliance with firm policies and procedures, including the application of Standard Terms of Engagement to all client engagements. Strategic Program Management: Drive innovation and optimise the firm''s governance, global business acceptance, processes, systems, and controls. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders, including teams across Australia, including Risk & Compliance, Independence and Legal. Mentoring and Development: Manage, train, and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.Skills & experience Experience: 10+ years of experience managing conflicts and alignment in an international firm, preferably with a strong presence in Australia. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and the ability to critically evaluate multiple sources of information. Research Skills: Demonstrated research skills and familiarity with online research tools. Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues, partners, and management. Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with a positive customer service-oriented attitude. Time Management: Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills. Professionalism: Professionalism and the ability to influence in a positive manner.
