Head of School, Early Childhood and Care1 day ago Be among the first 25 applicantsGet AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.Direct message the job poster from Holmes Institute, AustraliaHolmes Institute is a socially responsible Higher Education Provider dedicated to the pursuit of best practice teaching in higher education and to providing a dynamic, student-centred learning environment that fosters rational thought and is committed to and supportive of free intellectual enquiry in the Institutes academic endeavours.Purpose of PositionThe Head of School leads the Master of Teaching (Early Childhood) and the Graduate Diploma Early Childhood.The Head manages Teachers, Markers and Placement Coordinators, contributes to governance, teaches and helps students, quality assures assessment, assists with program development, interacts with stakeholders, and participates in scholarship.Key ResponsibilitiesTeach core units in the Master of Teaching (Early Childhood) and Graduate Diploma of Early Childhood course;Oversee and develop teaching resources including administrative documents, teaching materials, assessments, and academic resources;Assist with academic management and coordination of students professional experience placements;Support and advise WIL partner staff to facilitate student placements;Collaborate with academic and senior staff;Manage staff, partners, and academic resources;Contribute to quality assurance, monitoring, enhancement, and improvement;Organize facilities, library reference materials, and learning resources;Work collaboratively with academic and support staff across campuses;Participate in scholarly activities and outcomes;Key RequirementsTeaching qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care;Understanding of academic policy through substantial experience in academia and the early childhood sector;Leadership and management experience in early childhood education and care, with knowledge of related policies;Active participation in current education/teaching and discipline-specific scholarly activity, with scholarly outcomes;Proven teaching experience in higher education;Ability to adapt teaching to diverse student needs;Research experience and publication record;Excellent communication and teamwork skills;Working with Children Check.Organizational ContextHolmes Institute offers Bachelor degrees in Information Systems, Business, Professional Accounting, and Fashion Business, and Master degrees in related fields to domestic and international students.
