Were glad you asked. Basically, youre a creative person in the world of advertising. You may have a background in words, or production, or design, or filmmaking, or art direction (or all of the above) - we dont mind. A Tinker pulls things apart and puts them back together again. They love playing with ideas and bringing them to life. They fiddle and poke and prod until their ideas are working just right. They love coming up with ideas and they love getting those ideas out into the world for everyone else to enjoy.THE TASK AT HANDAs a Design Tinker, youll have creative and design skills, a folio/website that shows potential and smart thinking and enough energy, ambition and willingness to give this a red hot crack. Youre fizzing with creative energy. You absolutely love the creative industry we work in, you have shown signs that youll be amazing, but your best work is still ahead of you. You will be naturally inquisitive with strong attention to detail and enjoy working within a squad to get shit done. Youll be solutions oriented, able to form solid relationships with clients and peers, and youre not afraid to have an opinion.As a Design Tinker, you need to have a keen interest and strong skills in design, as well as digital, conceptual ability and originality. As a creative person, you have an insatiable appetite for the latest trends and possess versatility and flair.Youll have three key things to do:1. DESIGN SOLUTIONSYou love coming up with ideas, and solving problems through design. Youre able to have lots of ideas and you have a basic level of understanding around communicating through design.2. CREATIVE LEADERSHIPYou arent precious with your designs yet. Youre willing to be directed and guided as you learn what needs to be done to a design to shape it in the right way.3. ACT LIKE A DESIGNER, THINK LIKE A CLIENTYour design ideas not only exude creativity, but theyre also solving the problem, or answering the needs of the client. Youre able to understand what a client needs, and have the kinds of ideas that will blow them away.AND THIS IS WHAT LIFE AT THINKERBELL LOOKS LIKEThinkerbell represents the coming together of scientific enquiry and hard core creativity or as we like to call it, Measured Magic. We are an agency of Thinkers and Tinkers and have extensive experience in the worlds of media (paid, owned, earned, and shared), research, strategy, and creative execution. We have helped some of Australias best known and most loved brands find their inner magic.We promise to push you out of your comfort zone, and nurture your inherent brilliant qualities at the same time. The Institute of Measured Magic is our training and development program where we keep brains sticky with internal and external tailored training throughout the year. We also develop personal Measured Magic Indicators (MMIs are our version of KPIs) to ensure everyone is growing in their role and beyond.Whether you are a parent to little humans, the caregiver to your elder folk, or you simply do your best work over 4 days rather than 5 days- we are all ears and we are open to Full Time, Part Time or any ideas that lie in between.We kick off every week with Measured Mondays, our all agency, super-wip and finish every Friday at 4pm with Magic Hour, where we get creative and weird together.On top of your regular leave, everyone also gets a Mind Expansion Project per year, up to 5 consecutive days of extra leave per year for you to expand your mind and explore something new (that is something you wouldnt normally do and something youve never done before), and then share back your experience with the agency.
