This is an excellent opportunity for someone to broaden their leadership experience, develop new skills, and contribute to a different local government environment, while retaining the security of your substantive position.To be eligible for secondment, the following conditions must be met:You have obtained approval and support from your current Council for the secondment.You are approved to take unpaid leave for the duration of the temporary contract.You will be employed by Georges River Council on a maximum term contract and agree to the terms and conditions of that employment.At the conclusion of the contract, you will return to your substantive role with your current Council.Any accrued sick leave or long service leave at the conclusion of the contract may be transferred back to your Council in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023.The successful candidate will haveTertiary qualifications in Museum Studies or equivalentCurrent Working with Children CheckCurrent NSW Drivers Licence (Class C)Demonstrated experience supervising the delivery of customer focused services in a museum, gallery or equivalent cultural organisationDemonstrated experience in leadership, team building and staff development, including mentoring, performance management and change managementDemonstrated experience leading the implementation and management of visual art and social history exhibitionsDemonstrated experience leading the delivery of public programs and events for diverse audiencesDemonstrated experience leading the implementation of public art projects, including external stakeholder managementDemonstrated experience in designing and evaluating services that reflect and enhance the cultural, informational, recreational and educational needs of the communityDemonstrated experience developing business cases, grant submissions, award applications and presentations to support organisational decision makingDemonstrated high level oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including report writing, effective negotiation, consultation and consensus buildingDemonstrated financial management skills and experience managing an operational budgetDemonstrated experience managing complex projects and competing priorities, including an ability to work to deadlinesDemonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite as well as content management systems and technology in a museum or gallery or equivalent settingIf you have made a positive commitment to further your career and you possess the attributes located in the complete Position Description essential criteria, then please submit your application today.
