Cowra Council is offering an excitingTraineeship opportunity at the Civic Centre for a motivated individual looking to launch a career in lighting and technical production.As a Trainee - Lighting & Technical Assistant, you will work closely with experienced events staff to support the technical needs of theatre productions, concerts, community events, and civic functions. As part of the traineeship, you will:Assist with the setup, operation and maintenance of lighting, audio, and staging equipmentSupport technical rehearsals and live event deliveryLearn to troubleshoot and maintain equipment and cablingFollow safe work procedures and venue protocolsThis is a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn, working in a dynamic arts and culture environment, while gaining a nationally recognised qualification.The Traineeship is full-time employment for three (3) years, with the proposed study being a Certificate III in Live Production and Technical Services.Were seeking someone who is:Enthusiastic about the performing arts and live eventsKeen to work hands-on with lighting, sound and staging equipmentA strong communicator who enjoys working in a teamWilling to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekendsCommitted to completing the full traineeship and training programPhysically fit, safety conscious and strong ability to problem solveTo be considered for this role, you will have;A willingness to contribute toward the success of the teamStrong work ethic with a commitment to health, safety and environmental work practicesThe ability to follow direction and procedures, while showing initiativeHold a current minimum P1 manual drivers licenceHigh level of computer competency (Training will be delivered online through Microsoft Office Teams with TAFE NSW.
