We''re currently seeking a proactive and safety-focused Freight Coordinator to join our dedicated team at Melbourne Airport.As a Freight Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and timely movement of cargo from the warehouse to the airline ramp helping to keep flights on schedule and cargo moving efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct safety checks on all Ground Support Equipment (GSE) prior to useAccurately transmit freight manifest information in a timely mannerRecord and maintain relevant documentationProfessionally assist clients and stakeholdersBuild collaborative relationships with internal staff and industry partnersComplete and maintain compliance in Dangerous Goods Acceptance, Load Restraint, and Security TrainingEnsure accurate cargo dispatch aligned with Airline Systems, Freight Manifest, and Barrows TagAccompany cargo with appropriate documentation, manifest, and NOTOCPerform additional duties as requiredHSE & Compliance ResponsibilitiesAdhere to all health and safety procedures and report hazards immediatelyEnsure personal and team safety at all timesParticipate in safety improvement activitiesWear all required personal protective equipment (PPE)What Were Looking ForSkills & ExperienceMinimum 12 months in a similar aviation or logistics roleKnowledge of aircraft load control and safety proceduresUnderstanding of CASA regulatory requirementsCompetent computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft OfficeAttributesStrong multitasking and time management skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesA self-starter with a can-do attitudeTeam player with the ability to work independentlyQualificationsCurrent Drivers LicenseValid ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card)Roster & ConditionsRotating Roster (MondaySunday)Start times range between 4:30 AM to 1:30 AM (flexibility required)On-site parking and uniform providedJoin a team that values safety, precision, and reliability in one of Australia''s busiest air freight hubs.
