Primary responsibilities include appropriate management and co-ordination of staff which includes nurses, administrative and support staff, coordination of patient care and management of departmental processes and practice. The Nurse Manager works closely and collaboratively with the ED Director in order to ensure appropriate leadership in clinical, financial and human resource management and to support the daily operational activities of the department. The Nurse Manager ensures that overall functioning of the Emergency Department is in accordance with the department''s strategic plan and also ensures the maintenance of quality standards of care.
