As a senior clinician the speech pathologist is responsible for overseeing and providing an efficient and effective service through the application of clinical expertise and knowledge in the management of patients with acquired swallowing and communication difficulties in a community setting. They will also contribute to senior departmental duties including clinical supervision, leading of quality improvement activities, participation in service development, liaising with other discipline seniors and other administrative responsibilities as requiredWhere You''ll Be WorkingSWSLHD Primary & Community Health provides a comprehensive range of community-based services designed to improve and maintain the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities across South Western Sydney.These services include prevention, early intervention, assessment, acute and post-acute treatment, health maintenance, and continuing care. View our application guide for information on how to respond to criteria and improve your application.Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.Advanced clinical knowledge and experience and skills in providing dysphagia and communication management (including aged care community populations).Demonstrated leadership in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating quality improvement process.Demonstrated ability to both lead a team and work independently and provision of clinical supervision and training of staff. Demonstrated experience supervising staff and/or students.Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver''s license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment.
