Working closely with the broader design team, this role ensures brand objectives are met by overseeing range development from concept to delivery, mentoring the team, and collaborating with key stakeholders on key milestones.**Please note that this is a 12 month Parental Leave contract**Key AccountabilitiesDesign and develop products aligned with brand strategy that fulfill customer needs and provide ongoing innovation in designated categoriesAlign product details and aesthetics across categories to ensure monthly collection cohesionEnsure the collection resonates with target customerGuide the Designer in product design and development before range sessions with the Head of Design and Buying Manager and Production ManagerCommunicate with factories, suppliers, and agents to develop and produce collections that meet the brands and customers'' quality standardsOversee the completion of briefing sheets for all styles within nominated categories, ensuring they are handed over to the Technical Designer according to the critical pathLead fit direction with the Technical Designer to maintain consistent fit and high-quality workmanshipCommunicate styling adjustments post-fittings to the Merchandise Planner, Buying and Production Manager, addressing any design concerns, potential delays, or price adjustmentsReview weekly sales reports to analyse best sellers, sell-through rates, and any issues with specific styles or coloursLead and mentor a Designer and Design Assistant.Key CapabilitiesDiploma or degree qualification in DesignExceptional technical skills, fabric and/or yarn sourcing and knowledgeExceptional interpersonal and communication skills, having had the experience in presenting to an Executive TeamAbility to work in a potentially rapidly changing environment.The Country Road Group is one of Australasias largest Lifestyle Brand Houses comprising of iconic brands such as Country Road, POLITIX, Trenery, Witchery and MIMCO.
