Lead Counsel - Intellectual property - In HouseStrategic role - IPAbout Our ClientThe client is a global client.Job DescriptionStrategic IP Portfolio ManagementDevelop, implement, and maintain a forward-looking global IP strategy aligned with business and innovation goals.Manage and optimize the company''s IP portfolio (patents, trademarks, trade secrets, copyrights) across multiple jurisdictions.Conduct regular IP audits, gap analyses, and competitor benchmarking.Commercial & Cross-Functional CollaborationAdvise senior leadership, product, R&D, and marketing teams on IP risks and opportunities tied to innovation and expansion.Draft, negotiate, and review IP-related clauses in commercial agreements (e.g., licensing, collaborations, M&A, R&D partnerships).Educate internal teams on IP best practices, ownership, and protection strategies.Enforcement, Dispute Resolution & Risk ManagementOversee and coordinate IP disputes globally (litigation, oppositions, enforcement), engaging with external counsel as required.Design and implement global IP enforcement strategies, including anti-counterfeiting programs where applicable.Assess and mitigate infringement risk in product development and market entry strategies.4. Global & Jurisdictional LeadershipNavigate and advise on jurisdiction-specific IP issues, with a focus on APAC, EMEA, and North America.Stay abreast of international IP trends, legal developments, and regulatory changes that impact the business.Engage with external counsel and international offices to ensure alignment and efficiency in IP strategy execution.The Successful Applicant8+ years of post-qualification experience in intellectual property law, with in-house experience strongly preferred.Proven track record in global IP strategy, including both contentious and non-contentious work.Deep understanding of patent, trademark, trade secret, and copyright law across major jurisdictions.Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills across global teams.Multilingual or international experience is a plus.What''s on OfferOpportunity to shape and drive the IP strategy of an innovation-led global business.A collaborative, diverse, and inclusive work environment with global reach.Competitive compensation and benefits package. #J-18808-Ljbffr
