As a member of the Statutory Planning team, you will grow your skill base gaining extensive experience in relevant planning legislation, policies, statutory procedures and requirements for land use planning and assessment of development applications.The salary and banding of this position will depend on the applicants skills and experience.Position detailsPart Time or Full Time Employment hours may be negotiated.This role allows for flexible working arrangements and as part of the package, Council will also provide relocation assistance to help support a move to the region.Job Number: R2642Applications Close: 4pm, Thursday 26 June 2025About The OpportunityIn this role, you will provide statutory planning advice and assess development applications in accordance with the Mildura Planning Scheme, the Subdivision Act, and the Planning and Environment Act.Working closely with our Strategic Planning Branch, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to strategic planning projects, with involvement tailored to your level of experiencewhether youre building your capabilities or bringing seasoned expertise.Senior planners may take on more complex applications and provide mentorship within the team, while early-career planners will be supported to grow their skills in a collaborative and development-focused environment.What You Will BringIdeally the successful applicant will have the following:A degree or diploma in Town and Regional Planning or equivalent recognised qualification or two years experience in town planning (either local government or consulting) or similar experience in a related field.A current drivers licence.Hold a current satisfactory Police Check or willing to obtain one prior to employment.Salary and ConditionsThe position is classified between Band 5 and Band 6 of Councils Current Enterprise Agreement ranging from $ 77,725 to $ 101,911 per annum plus statutory superannuation.Mildura Rural City Council is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to building a culture that values diversity.
