We specialize in all areas of environmental analysis, including contaminated soil, sludge, sediments, leachate, soil vapour, trade waste effluents, sewage effluents, stack emissions, workplace air, ambient air, dust, drinking water, surface water runoff, river & stream monitoring, seawater, and groundwater.Job DescriptionFull-time position based in Girraween, NSW.This role requires shift work from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.An extra 1.5% superannuation paid on top of the national standard rate.The Lab Technician will report to the Section Supervisor.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Sample preparation for soils and water, adhering to accredited methods.Data results entry into spreadsheets.Prioritize samples with shorter turnaround times (urgent samples).Replenish consumable items from warehouse supplies.Perform calibrations of auto-pipettes, balances, and other equipment as per calibration schedule.Keep the laboratory clean and organized; sort and store analyzed samples appropriately.Perform any other duties assigned by the Section Supervisor.Perform duties professionally and safely.QualificationsA person performing the duties listed does not need a science degree but must have a good understanding of chemistry and mathematics (Year 11 AU, Year 12 - NZ).Experience with Microsoft applications is beneficial.A desire to continually learn and improve.Ability to be a hands-on, hardworking ''doer'' with a common-sense approach.Additional InformationWe will review applications as they are received.
