We provide culturally safe, high-quality primary health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across the Big Rivers region through a network of remote clinics and multidisciplinary teams.To learn more, visit: www.sunrise.org.auAbout the OpportunitySunrise Health Service Aboriginal Corporation is looking for full-time Remote Area Nurses (with or without Midwifery qualifications) to join our dedicated teams across remote Northern Territory communities.This role reports to the Clinical Manager and involves providing primary and emergency health care to residents while collaborating with Aboriginal Health Workers and local service providers.More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:Providing primary health care, acute care, and emergency services in collaboration with a multidisciplinary teamTreating acute and chronic medical conditions while managing patient recalls and follow-upsConducting outreach to outstations and ensuring health checks and screenings are completedAssessing and referring social welfare issues within the communityTraining, guiding, and supporting Aboriginal Health Workers in clinical dutiesAbout YouTo qualify, you will need current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife. A minimum of three years remote area or rural nursing experience is preferred, though candidates with strong primary health and clinical skills will also be considered.Additionally, the following qualifications and background will be highly valued:Experience working in Aboriginal health or cross-cultural contextsExperience in Midwifery will be highly regardedSound knowledge of primary health care principlesAdvanced clinical assessment, triage, and emergency response skillsDemonstrated ability to communicate and work collaboratively in a team settingCultural sensitivity, adaptability, and initiative in remote settingsAs our ideal candidate, you are open to learning, emotionally resilient, and comfortable working independently in diverse Aboriginal communities.
