We are committed to producing accessible food, supporting communities, and delivering strong economic results, all while prioritising sustainability to ensure a prosperous, healthy planet for future generations.The role:Reporting to the Production Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating and leading our filleting and smokehouse operations. We are looking for a dynamic, solution-focused leader with strong communication and organisational skills. You will be reliable, self-motivated, and committed to fostering a safe and productive work environment while aligning with Tassals values.Responsibilities:Lead and manage the filleting team, ensuring high standards in people safety and product quality.Oversee area KPIs, including cost control, yield optimisation, and production output.Drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a positive team culture.Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and relevant external regulations.Maintain day-to-day operational control, providing guidance and support to team members.Apply strong risk management practices to prevent issues and enhance efficiency.Utilise Microsoft applications for reporting and operational tracking.Role requirements:Proven experience in team leadership, with a focus on safety and performance management.Strong understanding of operational KPIs (cost, yield, output) and process improvement.Ability to lead change and build a collaborative team environment.Knowledge of food quality, safety standards, and GMP (desirable but not essential).Experience in the food industry or smokehouse operations (advantageous but not mandatory).Previous experience in a similar role is highly regarded.Drivers licence and reliable transport to get to work.A positive, can-do attitude with a focus on safety.Proof of working rights in Australia.Willingness to complete a pre-employment medical assessment and drug test.Role offerings:Work with a supportive, passionate, and collaborative team.Huge potential for career development and progression.Generous employee discount on our range of seafood products.Access to Maxxia Salary Packaging, Novated Leasing & Rewards programme.Workplace health and wellbeing support for you and your family.Company culture:Our people each contribute in different ways, embracing our business values and harnessing our can do safely culture with purpose and intent.
