Our expertise covers all areas of environmental analysis, including soil, sludge, sediments, leachate, soil vapour, trade waste, sewage effluents, stack emissions, workplace air, ambient air, dust, drinking water, surface runoff, river and stream monitoring, seawater, and groundwater.Job DescriptionFull-time position based in Girraween, NSW.This role requires shift work from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.An additional 1.5% superannuation paid on top of the standard rate.The Lab Technician reports to the Section Supervisor.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Sample preparation for soils and water according to accredited methods.Data entry into spreadsheets.Prioritising urgent samples with shorter turnaround times.Replenishing consumables from warehouse supplies.Calibrating auto-pipettes, balances, and other equipment as scheduled.Maintaining laboratory cleanliness and organising analysed samples for storage.Performing additional duties as assigned by the Section Supervisor.Performing duties professionally and safely.QualificationsTo succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will have:A good understanding of chemistry and mathematics (equivalent to Year 11 in Australia or Year 12 in New Zealand). A science degree is not required.Experience with Microsoft applications is beneficial.A desire to learn and improve continuously.A hands-on, hardworking attitude with common sense.Additional InformationWe review applications as they are received.
