Firm wide, we have over 270 Partners and 1700 people.The opportunityWe have an opportunity for a high performing Solicitor to join our highly regarded Commonwealth Government Melbourne practice, led by Sarah Thompson. This team works in government and administrative law, conducting judicial and merits review on behalf of the Commonwealth government in a range of litigation matters. You will be a part of a local team of 5 lawyers and 2 paralegals and a national team of 3 Partners, 17 lawyers and 10 paralegals. You''ll get direct client access and scope to team up with our national colleagues. This is a unique opportunity to take your career to the next level and be a part of a growing practice.In this role, you will:Manage a high-volume litigation practice on behalf of the Commonwealth Government;Provide advice on prospects of success;Prepare court documents in accordance with court deadlines;Undertake solicitor advocacy in the Federal Courts and Administrative Review Tribunal.Ideally you will have:1-3 years post admission experience within litigation;previous government or migration experience viewed favourably;good interpersonal and communication skills to be able to deal with clients and other parties;excellent document drafting and advice writing skills; anda desire to develop your career in private legal practice.What we offerUnrivalled career pathways:Our unique meritocracy model proudly offers our staff career development, promoting talent based solely on merit.
