They also manage HSBCs global tax affairs, group treasury needs, and organize events for investors and analysts.This role will oversee tax matters for Australia and New Zealand, covering all first-line tax risks and second-line obligations. It reports to the CFO, Australia and NZ, with significant engagement and escalation reporting to the Head of Tax, Asia and MENAT. The key responsibilities include corporate tax reporting, tax compliance, business governance, and support activities, serving as a subject matter expert on Australia and NZ tax issues.Responsibilities:Act as the first line of defence (FLOD) for corporate tax reporting and compliance, including indirect tax filings.Maintain an open and transparent relationship with the Australian Tax Office (ATO).Handle second line of defence (SLOD) activities related to Client Tax Reporting, providing expertise on local and global client tax reporting obligations such as CRS and FATCA.Liaise daily with local stakeholders on tax issues, acting as Risk Steward when Tax is SLOD, and escalate issues requiring judgment.Analyze business areas and offer tax-focused recommendations to mitigate risks, with appropriate judgment on escalation to management.Ensure tax matters are properly considered, and recommendations and implications are clearly communicated and implemented by relevant personnel. #J-18808-Ljbffr
