Monash Womens is a member of the Victorian Fetal Therapy Service (VFTS), and is the only site in Victoria to provide in utero laser surgery for fetal conditions such as twin-twin transfusion syndrome.The neonatal unit in Monash Childrens Hospital Clayton has a combined neonatal intensive care and special care capacity of 60 cots, the largest in Victoria. The unit is accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians to provide the maximum period of 2 years advanced training (perinatal and surgical) in Neonatal Perinatal Medicine. Supported by a comprehensive range of paediatric specialty and statewide services at Monash Childrens Hospital, the neonatal service is able to provide the full range of medical and surgical care of the newborn from 22 weeks gestational age onwards and with the exception only of ECMO and cardiac surgery. Consultant Neonatologists have opportunities for leadership and ongoing skills development in clinical care, quality improvement, education and training, and translational research through a close relationship with The Ritchie Centre and Hudson Institute of Medical Research located in Monash Medical Centre, and the Department of Paediatrics, Monash University.About the Role This is a full-time, fixed term, parental leave cover opportunity to join our team.You will support and assist the Director Monash Newborn Clayton in the provision of a high quality neonatal service, consistent with Monash Health values.
