Whats the Opportunity Were always on the lookout for enthusiastic and passionate Support Workers to join our team and support people with a disability to participate in the Ys seasonal programs and camps. Bring your passion and enthusiasm to the Y, where every day is filled with laughter, growth, and heartwarming moments. We offer seasonal Support Worker opportunities in the following areas: Overnight Camps (School holidays and throughout the year) School Holiday Weekday Programs As a Disability support Worker with our seasonal programs, you will assist in providing programs that are fun and flexible to children, teenagers and adults with varying disabilities. Your mission is to ensure that every participant embarks on thrilling adventures, hones their skills, enjoys social interactions, and achieves personal milestones. Activities focus on building independent living skills, social skills, and community access. We offer a flexible workplace, a free gym membership, ongoing professional development opportunities and competitive rates. What do we hope you''ll bring? A passion for supporting and empowering people with disabilities. Willingness to give 110% attention to building life skills and the care of participants. A sense of fun, warmth and compassion. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Being flexible and reliable. Experience working in the disability services sector (Just starting out? Wed still love to hear from you, we offer unqualified opportunities too!). Mandatory Requirements/Qualifications Legal right to live and work in Australia. Current Employee Working with Children Check (VIC) and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain prior to starting with us). International Police check if you have lived outside Australia in the last 5 years. Current First Aid & CPR. Qualifications including Cert III or IV in Community Services or equivalent are well regarded and attract a higher pay grade. Dont have a formal qualification? Whilst relevant experience and a Community Services Qualification is desirable, the Y is willing to consider candidates with a passion for working in the disability sector and have relevant life experience.
