Overview:Full-time , Continuing position HEW 9 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working ArrangementsBased at the Melbourne CBD campus, and hybrid ways of working About the RoleRMIT University is seeking an experienced and strategic Manager, Research Partnerships to drive and support collaborative research initiatives which capture the value and impact of translational research. Working at the interface of industry and research, this role plays a vital part in advancing the Universitys strategic research agenda by initiating, building and sustaining high-impact research partnerships across industry and government.This role brings breadth of industry experience from across the corporate and technology business environment to provide advice and support to researchers in identifying, developing and growing collaborative research initiatives. The role is central to initiating and developing new business opportunities through external engagement, maintaining and deepening relationships with existing partners, and building RMITs profile across key industry sectors. You will be a key enabler of strategic initiatives that align with RMITs research strengthswith a focus on supporting the College of Business & Laws school and research centers to grow research partnerships, boost interdisciplinary collaboration, and deliver exceptional research outcomes.About YouDemonstrated experience in research engagement, business development and partnership management, across relevant industry sectors.Proven commercial acumen and negotiation skills and a track record of building and maintaining productive research partnerships.Familiarity with research funding landscape, partnership contracting considerations and translational pathways.A strategic mindset and a proactive and collaborative approach to working across teams and disciplines.Well established networks across corporate, government and research innovation ecosystem both locally and globally.Exceptional influencing skills and the ability to bring complex research ideas to life through effective partnership development.A results-driven approach with strong time management and the ability to prioritise competing demands in a complex environment.Skilled at navigating complex stakeholder environments, and you thrive in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment.Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.About the Portfolio RMITs Research and Innovation Portfolio (R&I) supports researchers to help shape the world.
