Jabiru is in an exciting period as it transitions from a ex-mining town to a Hospitality hub, in line with the Traditional Owners'' request.Kakadu itself is enigmatic. You have nature''s greatest playground at your doorstep.The Role:Reporting to the property General Manager, you play a significant role in long-term planning, including driving initiatives geared toward operational excellence. This includes evaluating guest feedback and managing all front-of-house departments, including Front Office, Food and Beverage, and Housekeeping. You will also be responsible for setting departmental targets and objectives, work schedules, budgets, and policies and procedures so that all staff are up to date and aligned with company objectives.Key Attributes:Coordinate and manage the day-to-day operations of the hotel while maximising profitability and meeting customers needs.Oversee rostering for all departments, ensuring budget guidelines and resourcing needs are met.Coordinate and deliver all end-of-month reporting, and assist in preparing the quarterly board papers with key insights into performance and upcoming initiatives.Manage work, health and safety, including monthly meetings and maintaining the current auditing system.Plan and direct activities such as sales promotions, coordinating with other Department Managers as required.Excellent interpersonal skills, with a proactive and collaborative management style.Experience working across operations in a fast-paced, complex community environment.A passion for seeking positive outcomes for local indigenous communities, including the training and development of young community members.Experience working in and managing a venture operating under a community accord will be highly regarded.Attend to significant operational problems promptly, including customer complaints, enquiries, and requests.
