This position will primarily be based at the Cherry Creek Youth Justice Precinct.Administer clinical assessments and work collaboratively as part of a care team to achieve sustained behaviour change.Deliver criminogenic and offence-related interventions in Youth Justice in custodial and community settings.Create Change from the Inside OutThe young people we work with can make remarkable changes in their lives.Statewide rehabilitation services include innovative, evidence-based clinical assessments and interventions for children and young people to support their rehabilitation and reintegration with caregivers, education and other related support systems in the community.As a statewide model, rehabilitation services aim to provide continuity of care to young people as they move from community into custody.The opportunityAHP 4.1 Role earning $113,022 - $124,884 per year plus super.Deliver targeted clinical assessments and criminogenic and offence-related interventions for children and young people.Collaborate with stakeholders as part of a care team to support rehabilitative outcomes.Provide clinical guidance and support to other Youth Justice staff including case managers, behaviour support specialists, and youth justice workers.In this role, you will deliver evidence-based clinical assessments and targeted criminogenic and offence-related interventions to children and young people in custody and the community. You will also provide specialist advice other Youth Justice staff including case managers, behaviour support specialists, youth justice workers and other members of the care team to create best practice outcomes. This includes completing comprehensive case notes, treatment plans and risk assessment reports for internal and external stakeholders.You will undertake research and analysis in specialist clinical portfolio areas for input into recommendations to senior staff and provide feedback to improve overall practice and responsiveness. In addition, you will lead initiatives and manage quality assurance to support implementation of child safe standards across clinical teams by providing expertise on child and adolescent development, interventions and policy.To be successful in the role, you will have knowledge of key issues impacting youth justice and direct experience working with children and young people.Qualifications RequiredGeneral or Provisional Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); orEligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW); orCredentialed as a Mental Health Nurse with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses; orRegistration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.For more information on the skills and experience that we look for, please read the job description document attached.What''s in it for you?You will be working for the Department of Justice and Community Safety, which is one arm of the Victorian State Government, a recognised top employer of choice nationally.
