Seeking an experienced Canteen & Caf Manager to join our Wycliffe Team..Location: Warrimoo, NSWEmployment Type: Permanent full-time, term-time positionStart Date: 11 August 2025The Canteen & Caf Manager will lead a new team in the schools new purpose-built canteen and caf facilities due to open in Term 3 2025. The Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the schools canteen and caf ensuring that students, staff and community members enjoy delicious food and drinks in a warm, welcoming hub in the geographic heart of the Wycliffe site. This position is responsible to the Business Manager, with the successful candidate required to manage multiple competing priorities in a calm, servant-hearted and generous fashion.Personal attributesThe Canteen & Caf Manager will:Have a firm commitment to the schools Statement of Faith and Vision Statement, evidenced by a love for the Lord Jesus Christ and his Word, and a deep desire to honour Him through their roleParticipate fully in the spiritual life of the school, including participation in staff devotions and meetings (as able)Exude a Christlike personality; flexibly and empathetically approaching their rolePossess exceptional communication skills, with the capacity to meaningfully relate to students, parents, colleagues and others within the Wycliffe communityKey responsibilitiesManagement of the schools (interconnected but distinct) canteen and caf facilities, ensuring that each operates in a sustainable fashion whilst contributing positively to community lifeDevelop, implement, and maintain procedures to ensure safe, efficient and effective food service deliveryHands-on preparation and service of delicious food and drinks to students and staff for breakfast, recess and lunchLead and train staff and volunteers to be cohesive and energetic, committed to delivering friendly and efficient serviceOversee the rostering of staff and volunteers to ensure service deliveryAssist in the recruitment and training of new staffOverseeing the ordering and maintenance of Caf equipment, stock and supplies, including the management of supplier contractsAssist in the organisation and delivery of functions and eventsMaintenance of exceptional cleaning, sanitation and food hygiene practices (to commercial standards)Oversee daily financial reconciliationsIn consultation with the Business Manager, implement strategies to ensure that caf and canteen costs are managed effectivelySelection criteriaEssential skills/qualificationsA committed and active relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by regular attendance and service within a local church communityHospitality experience, including a strong understanding of workplace and food safety and canteen and caf operationsFlexibility, patience, empathy and a willingness to engage in a variety of tasks and responsibilitiesHighly developed customer service skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team and work independently as requiredFinancial acumen, with a proven ability to implement strategies that enhance operations, profitability and customer experienceThe ability to creatively design canteen and caf menusA strong desire to work with children and young peopleAbility to handle community information with discretion and confidentialityA current Working With Children CheckA current NSW Food Authority Food Safety Supervisors Certificate (or willingness to obtain)Successful completion of the NSW Food Authority Food Handler Basics courseDesirable skills/qualificationsPrevious leadership experience within a hospitality environmentExperience as a Chef/CookExperience in a school-settingPhysical/work environment requirementsAbility to stand for extended periods and perform tasks that require physical exertion (e.g. lifting and carrying supplies)Proficiency in handling kitchen equipment and utensils safely and efficientlyComfortable working in an environment with varying temperaturesAbility to work in a busy environment with moderate noise levels.Information for applicantsDownload and view thePosition DescriptionFor further information, please contact Mr Andrew Smith (Business Manager) on (02) 4753 6422 for a confidential discussion.To apply for this position, please complete theEmployment Application Form.Applications close on Friday 25th July.Interviews may be conducted as applications are received. #J-18808-Ljbffr
