Applications are invited for outstanding educators and leaders for the full-time ongoing position of Deputy Head of Junior School (Boys), Essendon campus, commencing January 2026.The Deputy Head will support the Head of Junior School (Boys) in leading a culture of thinking and student care and wellbeing across the campus and they will:Model outstanding educational leadership for staff and studentsSupport the Head of Section in planning, coordinating and delivering the Schools programsEffectively manage and support the smooth running of classes and school events and activitiesManage and mentor staff, providing guidance and direction on teaching and learning strategies and curriculum, in line with the values of the schoolDemonstrate a strong focus on student care and wellbeing, developing and maintaining practices that support student wellbeing and engagementLiaise with parents, effectively communicate and resolve issues and build positive relationshipsDemonstrate an understanding of and commitment to teaching boys at the Junior Years.The successful applicant will have:Educational leadership experience including outstanding teaching practiceSuitable qualifications and VIT registrationAbility to lead and engage school community membersExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsA commitment to student learning and wellbeingThe ability to build trusting and respectful relationships and enable cooperation amongst staff.Excellent organisational and planning skillsDemonstrated ability to work under pressure and balance competing needsThe SchoolPenleigh and Essendon Grammar School has over 3000 students from K-12 at campuses in Moonee Ponds, Essendon and Keilor East.
