The role reports to the Plant/Site Manager. This is a great opportunity to be a part of our manufacturing site based in Port Melbourne | VIC.The responsibilities of this role will include leading and managing the engineering and maintenance function at the Port Melbourne Plasterboard and Compoundsmanufacturing plants. As part of the site management team, you will deliver innovative, efficient and high quality solutions to ensure the efficient operation of the plants.Some duties include:Lead and manage all aspects of the engineering and maintenance function across the Port Melbourne plants.Deliver plant optimisation to allow for efficient productivity of the plant.Establish planned maintenance activities to ensure effective running of the plant.Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery while ensuring timelines, budgets and quality standards are met.Drive process optimisation, technical innovation and the implementation of advanced technologies.Collaborate with cross functional teams to align engineering efforts with business objectives.Manage the capex budget, allocating resources effectively to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.Oversee the engineering and maintenance teams including maintenance contractors to ensure safe and productive outputs.Develop the maintenance / asset care strategy.Candidate requirements:Degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, civil or related field)highly beneficialAt least 10 years management experience within a similar role particularly with broad experience in the manufacturing industry (building products advantageous but not necessary)Ability to work with a unionized workforce and a track record of fostering collaborative working relationships and building trustExcellent experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and root cause analysisStrong Project Management skillsGood knowledge of MS Office required and SAP an advantageAbility to mentor, develop and coach team members as well as maintain performance and personal growth while working together as a teamDelegate, challenge and inspire the team to deliver exceptional outcomesOn offer:Excellent remuneration packageYearly pay review14 week Parental LeaveHigh organic internal growth promoted withinExposure to the business and broader Knauf manufacturing plants including offshoreTrue career progressionPlease note, applicants must have entitlements to work in Australia, as part of the recruitment process, police and medical checks for security clearance pertaining to specific job requirements will be conducted for successful applicants #J-18808-Ljbffr
