Cadia produces gold dor bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The Orange region is often referred to as the gateway to Country New South Wales with acclaimed wineries, fine dining, annual festivals and charming heritage villages making for an unparalleled work-life balance.Who were looking forReporting to the Superintendent Planning, The Mining Engineer Surface Operations is responsible for developing the execution plans and associated reporting for the surface operational areas.The primary purpose of this position is to produce weekly, monthly and quarterly forecast plans. Design work that supports the execution of the plans. In conjunction with this planning is tracking and reporting on the material movements, in support of environmental reporting.Key responsibilities include:Delivery of annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts aligned with other site functional departments (Mine & Mill) and 2YPDelivery of safe executable technical Mine & Construction designs that meeting site standards (CAD Files, Plan of Intent (POI), etc.)Deliver and support rolling Weekly and Monthly Plans aligned with other site function departments (Mine & Mill) and Quarterly PlansDeliver and support end of Month (EOM) reconciliation, KPI tracking and reporting activitiesActively participate in in the field safety verifications, highlighting positive actions, identifying non-compliance, and actively assisting in the rectification of hazards.Deliver and support Environmental, Compliance & Regulatory reporting requirementsThe ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with the required stakeholders to produce the short- and medium-term plans to enable the quarterly forecast to be achieved.You will also possess the following:Bachelor of Mining EngineeringDemonstrated experience in surface mining operations highly regardedExperience in planning work activities to achieve required outcomes and objectivesUnderstanding of mining sequencing and techniquesWorking knowledge of surface mine planning processesPlease note this is a 5/2 or 5/2-4/3 role in Orange, NSWAt Newmont, our commitment to diversity and inclusion ensures that everyone can work to their full potential, free from discrimination, while respecting the cultures, religions, and governance of the regions in which we operate.
