Their collaborative and proactive approach ensures projects are delivered efficiently, aligning with evolving network requirements and market reforms.The business is recognised for its commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and sustainable outcomes, contributing to Australias ambition to achieve net-zero emissions while supporting energy reliability and affordability.About the RoleAs Senior Grid Connection Manager, you will lead the full grid connection lifecycle for a portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy assets across Australia. You will manage complex technical and commercial interactions with network operators, regulators, and internal teams to secure and optimise grid connections. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring projects achieve key milestones on schedule and within budget, navigating evolving regulatory frameworks and market reforms specific to the Australian energy landscape.Key ResponsibilitiesLead all grid connection activities from initial connection enquiries through to energisation and commissioning for wind, solar, and battery storage projects within the NEM.Develop and implement grid connection strategies aligned with Australian network regulations, market rules, and evolving policy frameworks.Manage relationships with Australian Transmission Network Service Providers (TNSPs), Distribution Network Service Providers (DNSPs), AEMO, and other key stakeholders to drive connection outcomes.Coordinate and oversee technical studies, including system impact assessments, power quality studies, and protection coordination relevant to Australian grid requirements.Negotiate grid connection agreements, connection use of system agreements (CUoS), and associated commercial terms with network providers.Collaborate with internal project teams (engineering, development, legal, commercial) to integrate grid connection requirements into overall project schedules, budgets, and risk management plans.Monitor and interpret Australian electricity market reforms and regulatory changes impacting grid connection processes, advising leadership and project teams on implications and mitigation strategies.Manage issues and risks related to network constraints, curtailment, and network augmentations to minimise project delays and costs.Ensure compliance with Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) and Australian Energy Regulator (AER) requirements throughout the connection process.Provide regular updates and reporting to senior management on grid connection status, risks, and milestones.Represent the company in technical working groups, industry forums, and stakeholder consultations related to grid connection and network planning in Australia.Business CoverageGrid connection lifecycle management for wind, solar, and battery storage projects across the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM).Commercial and technical negotiations with Australian network service providers and regulatory agencies.Risk and compliance management within Australian regulatory frameworks and market environments.Cross-functional collaboration across project delivery, development, engineering, and commercial teams.Stakeholder engagement with Australian network operators, regulators, and industry bodies to support connection pipeline growth.Candidate ProfileYou are a technically strong and commercially astute professional with extensive experience managing grid connections for utility-scale renewable projects within the Australian energy market.
