This role combines hands-on technical expertise with people leadership, ensuring that engineering best practices are maintained whilst fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Data Science, and DevOps to deliver solutions that meet business requirements and technical standards. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to mentor and develop team members whilst contributing to architectural decisions and technical strategy.How will you make an impact?Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical guidance, career development support, and performance managementDrive the design and implementation of robust, scalable software solutions that align with business objectives and technical requirementsCollaborate with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliverable solutionsLeverage AI-powered development tools and assistants to enhance productivity and code quality in daily engineering tasksTeam collaboration with potential involvement in AI product development initiativesEstablish and maintain engineering best practices, including code quality standards, testing strategies, and deployment processesContribute to technical architecture decisions and ensure solutions are built with scalability, maintainability, and performance in mindFoster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and technical excellence within the engineering teamOversee code reviews, technical documentation, and knowledge sharing initiatives to maintain high standards across the teamManage technical debt and ensure appropriate balance between feature delivery and system maintenanceContribute to recruitment and onboarding of new engineering talent, ensuring team growth aligns with business needsDrive adoption of modern development practices, tools, and technologies that enhance team productivity and solution qualityThe superpowers you will bring to the team:5+ years of software engineering experience with proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions2+ years of technical leadership or team management experienceStrong proficiency in one or more programming languages commonly used at Quantium (e.g., Python, C#, TypeScript, Java)Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern development practicesSolid understanding of software architecture patterns, design principles, and engineering best practicesFamiliarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI development tools is highly desirableExperience with AI/ML frameworks and model deployment pipelines is advantageousStrong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively across diverse teamsDemonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior engineersBachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical fieldExperience with data processing, analytics platforms, or machine learning systems is highly desirableUnderstanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as codeExperience with microservices architecture and distributed systemsFamiliarity with database technologies and data modelling conceptsWhat could your Quantium Experience look like?Working at Quantium will allow you to challenge your imagination.
