Our client is a neuroaffirming practice and provides customised support across a lifespan from diagnosis to strength-based therapies and family supports. They specialise in autism, ADHD, anxiety, sensory challenges, and regulation support. They celebrate people for their neurodiversity. Our client is lucky enough to have two of the country''s leading disability experts on board who will give continued training on areas of neurodiversity and disability, providing a wealth of knowledge that would take your level of understanding and your career to new heights.An exciting opportunity has risen at our two clinics in Cranbourne and Wyndham Vale for a Speech Pathologist who wants to work as a contractor. They have a growing caseload of preschool and school aged clients, between the ages of 3-12 years who have support needs and are looking for a highly motivated therapist who enjoys working in pediatrics to support them.Key Responsibilities include:Independently manage a caseload of clients across the lifespanComplete initial assessments to establish goals for therapy and identify if formal assessments and/or further reports are neededComplete formal assessments and reports as neededComplete NDIS Outcome Reports, Support Letters and Assistive Technology Assessment ReportsComplete capacity building/education sessions with parents to empower them to be able to better support their children at homeLiase with and provide information to a range of stakeholders such as teachers, schools, other clinicians, child protection services, parents, caregivers, support workers etc.Provide neurodivergent affirming and relationship-based therapyComplete timely, formal case notesParticipate in care team meetings and advocate for your clients support needsPlan and run group therapy sessions with other cliniciansEnsure that client files are maintained and managed in accordance with National PEKE Centre policy and procedures.Meet a minimum billing target of 25hrs per week/5hrs per dayMaintain professional development through access to current literature, education programs, supervision programs and special interest groupsAbout YouTo be successful in applying for this role you will have:Bachelor of Speech Pathology (or higher qualification)Current registration with Speech Pathology AustraliaActive police check and working with children check with the ability to acquire a NDIS Worker Screening CheckDrivers license and access to a vehicleA passion for working with vulnerable members of your communityExcellent written and verbal communication and relationship building skillsThe ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively within a team environment.CPR training undertaken within the past three years or willingness to participate in training.Have the right to work in Australia or be eligible for such.Knowledge or willingness to learn about neurodiverse affirming practice and the social model of disabilityWillingness to learn from other disciplines to best support your clients (e.g., sensory needs that can be incorporated in session)NDIS and Pediatric experience will be highly regardedThe successful candidate will be joining a team of qualified therapists as well as other disciplines. In this role you will be working predominantly in the clinic and out in the community if desired. As a fully qualified therapist, you will receive a respectable remuneration package based on the award and level of experience. A professional development package of $1000 per year is on offer for a full-time staff member and ongoing support from highly skilled and experienced Speech Pathologists as well as the practice owners and colleagues. This role could also be offered as part-time. They also have other positions available within our clinics for Occupational Therapists and Psychologists.
