About the Victorian Student Representative Council (VicSRC)Victorian Student Representative Council (VicSRC) is the peak body and leading advocate representing school-aged students in Victoria. VicSRC works closely with students, educators, and government stakeholders to improve the education system for all students by advocating for the adoption of student voice practice in schools and across government, as well as undertaking consultative research and delivering programs to students and educators.About the roleThe Policy and Advocacy Manager is a key leadership role at VicSRC, working directly with our Student Executive Advisory Committee to support and elevate student-led advocacy across Victoria. Youll co-design our annual flagship event, Congress, and lead the development of policy positions, campaigns and research that amplify student voice in education.This role also oversees VicSRCs communications strategy to ensure strong, student-led messaging across all platforms. Working closely with the CEO, youll help drive VicSRCs public influence and impact.About youOur ideal candidate has a passion for supporting students to be actively involved in education decision making. You have experience co-designing projects and events with young people, and you enjoy mentoring and coaching students to reach their full potential.You have extensive experience in research and developing and implementing evidence-based policy platforms and advocacy campaigns in partnership with young people. You have a good understanding of political engagement, and a passion for driving systemic change.You are energetic, adaptable, and can work autonomously as well as collaboratively with a close-knit team. You are exceptionally organised and have demonstrated skills in managing multiple projects with competing demands.
