We pay our respects to Elders past and present who hold memories, knowledge and culture, and their enduring cultural practices of caring for Country that spans millennia.About the OpportunityThe Strategic Engagement Officer Aboriginal Engagement will develop and deliver communication and engagement strategies to support the Universitys Strategic Plan of Aboriginal Engagement. In addition, this role will:Design, initiate and implement Indigenous engagement activities at the University through evaluative research, analysis, and interpretation of data to inform resource allocation, operational planning and reporting.Develop and deliver a range of best practice engagement strategies to support and develop a highly visible and meaningful Indigenous presence at the University.Build, implement and analyse surveys on Indigenising the curriculum, Indigenous research and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student experience.Provide high level advice, support and assistance to all levels of leadership in the development and delivery of Indigenous Strategic priorities.Manage digital and other engagement initiatives to Indigenous and non-Indigenous staff, students, and other stakeholders and create of a wide range of relevant resources.Drive and lead implementation of staff development activities.About the UniversityAt the University of Tasmania, we have mission to make a difference for Tasmania, and from Tasmania. We welcome enquiring minds, from near and far, to join us in our pursuit of the extraordinary.Whats RequiredExperience in effective project management including the ability to perform a diverse range of broad and detailed tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.Highly developed interpersonal, influencing and verbal communication skills,Proven ability to provide executive project and research support, including the ability to analyse and prepare comprehensive reports, minutes, and other associated documentation.Highly developed administration and organisational skills, with demonstrated ability to exercise judgment on work methods and task sequence in order to meet deadlines.Combination of extensive relevant experience and training in Indigenous studies, business studies or other relevant field of study, or completion of a degree with experience, or equivalent combination.Current Working with Vulnerable People registration in Tasmania Employment category or ability to obtain prior to appointment.This is an Identified Position.
