The role involves working across various team activities, primarily serving Japanese companies and their expatriate employees.Our Expatriate and Employment Taxes team handles large Japanese multinational clients, providing tax compliance and consulting services related to expatriate employees.Key Responsibilities:Review advice on Japanese expatriate tax compliance, planning, and optimisation.Prepare expatriate personal tax returns, Fringe Benefits Tax returns, Payroll Tax returns, and other compliance activities as part of a team.Advise on and ensure compliance with Australian Employee Share Plans for cross-border Japanese expatriates.Conduct expatriate tax briefings in Japanese and manage expatriate employee programs.Provide commentary on recent taxation developments to the Federal Treasury, Australian Taxation Office, and media.Prepare technical tax papers for clients as part of our Japan Practice.Review work of junior team members and provide coaching and guidance.Manage and maintain client and stakeholder relationships.Support Managers and Senior Managers with daily team operations, workflow, and projects.Assist in delivering technical training to the team and clients.Requirements for Success:Native-level Japanese language skills.At least 2 years of experience in Expatriate and Employment Taxes.Strong commitment to quality service and client relationships.Excellent writing and analytical skills, with a desire to develop further.Ability to liaise effectively at all organizational levels and build relationships.Strong research skills.Experience in a busy Tax or Business Services consulting organization, ATO, or revenue office.CA or equivalent qualification, or near completion.Why Choose BDO?Joining BDO means being part of a growing, market-leading professional services firm.
