Library AssistantsLarge multi-campus Christian schoolCasual positionsChairo Christian School is a non-denominational Christian school with 1,900 Kinder to Year 12 students attending five picturesque campuses in West and South Gippsland, the Latrobe Valley and the south-eastern outskirts of Melbourne.Our mission is to provide excellence in Christ-centred education in partnership with families within a caring Christian community. In doing this, we aim to prepare students thoroughly for further study, careers, service and life in general.We are currently seeking the services of one or more dedicated Library Assistants to be available to work on a casual basis at one or more of our campuses. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a caring Christian environment and provide important assistance to the students and teaching staff in delivering high quality care and Christian education to students.Some key responsibilities will include the following:Providing a godly example to students and fellow staff members through their practice, manner, relationships and general lifestyleAssisting students and teachers with reference enquiriesOperating and maintaining library equipmentPromoting and fostering the reading engagement of studentsMaintaining a welcoming and tidy library environmentSupervising students during recess, private study and assessmentsThe successful candidate will possess the following:Demonstrated commitment to the schools Statement of FaithQualifications and/or experience in library services (desirable)Well-developed interpersonal and communication skillsGood computer literacy skillsThe safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all our students is a high priority.
