Horizon is looking for experienced drivers that can help take children on field trips during the summer or work year-round taking children to and from school and the childcare centers as well. Join our employment team as we create a brighter future for children and families throughout the region and beyond.Location Currently Hiring: Our Shoreway and Old Brooklyn locations are each looking for one more driver who can work 2pm to 6pm, Monday through Friday. During the school year, you would take children from the local area elementary schools to the childcare center and then help in the school-age classroom until 6pm. This summer and next, you will have the opportunity to take children to and from field trips, plus work at the field trip where you are caring for and monitoring the children. Summer days are full-time 8 hours.Current Open Positions**Detailed job description will be provided during the interview process**SCHOOL AGE DRIVERDRIVING 14 passenger school bus and/or 6 passenger minivan. (No CDL required)Responsible for the care and supervision of children while transportingWork as part of a team with other teachers, leads, center staff and the directorProvide functional classroom support if neededAssist in documentation for attendance and transportation services providedBuild positive relationships with children and families as neededSeasonal requirements would include field trips, additional destination trips and some supervision support requirements while there.Bus inspections, maintaining of mileage log, and bus cleaning is requiredAll other duties as needed/assignedQualificationsMinimum High School Diploma or equivalentMUST be 21 years of age and have a current license with a clean driving record (no more than 4 points) to drive Horizon, training providedSome training, experience and/or interest in child development preferredWillingness to update job knowledge with required training, DCY licensing rules and SUTQ professional development opportunities, and industry trendsWe seek someone who is prompt and reliable and who possesses a genuine love of children.Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 lbs. as requiredMust be able to pass background checks and physical/ medical screening as requiredEmployee BenefitsMedical coverage for employees who work 30+ hours a week.
