Art buying unlocks the ability to partner, commission, and curate beautiful art, illustration, animation and other design work.In this contract position you will:- Support the Art Buying team on their ongoing projects- Partner with designers and art directors on your own projects that may require an illustration or animation commission- Understand and execute NDAs, contracts and become deeply familiar with the terms and usage associated with artwork- Stay active in the art, design and content creation community by finding talent, building relationships with agencies, and keeping your finger on the pulse of industry trends.- Manage commissions from concept to delivery, negotiating scope, usage, terms and cost.A bit about you:We''re looking for someone with experience in the illustration world that will support a design team of 5 working on projects throughout ANZ. This role would suit someone that has commissioned commercial art in the past.Were looking for someone with good knowledge of current design trends and artists, that responds well to challenges and is comfortable in a high stakes environment. You can expect to spend a lot of time researching artists, negotiating fees, and managing the production of projects.You should be able to comfortably handle multiple projects at once, keep calm under pressure, and be comfortable with ambiguity. The role involves working across many different content types with a large number of team members so it is imperative to be an excellent, calm communicator and team player.- Deep interest in illustration, design, animation and typography- Experience with commissioning illustration or creative production- Ability to work with challenging deadlines- Able to anticipate change and react efficiently- Comfortable with ambiguity- Able to handle multiple tasks for multiple individuals- Discretion in handling confidential materials and issues- Excels under pressure maintaining a calm demeanour- Works well both independently and as part of a teamThe successful candidate will be required to work 3 days per week in Sydney CBD with Monday and Friday remote. The role reports into a line manager based in Europe.
